Before you compare polished concrete quotes, check that each one covers the same items below. Our concrete polishing page shows how our jobs usually run, step by step.

• The same measured area, with the same edges, closets included.
• The same system: a true polish, grind and seal, or a coating.
• Removing and hauling off old flooring, crack repairs, and how much patching is included.
• How much stone you're aiming to show and the look you're after, how any sample gets approved, and how the edges are done.
• The products by name, and any protective coat.
• Power, access, dust control and protecting the surfaces next to the floor.
• Price, minimum charge, tax, what's not included, and how changes get approved in writing.
• How the work gets split into phases, when you can use the floor again, and how care gets explained at the end. Also any warranty terms: they vary by project and count only if they're written in the signed proposal.

If a detail is missing, ask about it

A lower price with vague prep work isn't the same as a quote that lists every step. If something's missing, ask what the contractor assumes about glue removal, or whether the sample will show how the edges might look next to the rest of the floor.
