Wimberley Polished Concrete Floor Specialists
We drive out to do polished concrete in Wimberley and across the Hays County Hill Country. Our jobs here include custom builds near Woodcreek and the Blue Hole area, plus established ranch homes and vacation properties off Ranch Road 12. When it suits the slab better, we also do stained concrete or a polishable overlay. A riverfront home on Cypress Creek starts the same way as a new build in town. We look at the slab in person, show you a sample or mockup if the job needs one, and put the scope in writing before any grinding.

Sound Familiar?
Homeowners, remodelers, builders, and facility managers around Central Texas often bring us these four problems.
You don't know what's under the floor
Tile or carpet comes up and nobody can say whether that slab will polish well. We check it first, and when the job calls for it we grind a test area, so there's less guessing about the finish.
Polishing, grind and seal, epoxy, and staining all get sold as "shiny concrete"
They're different systems with different upkeep, and we'll tell you which one fits the space instead of selling whatever we installed last week.
Cracks over Central Texas clay
Clay soil that swells and shrinks moves slabs. We can repair and manage cracks before polishing, but polishing won't erase them, and an overlay won't cure the movement. Wimberley sits west of Interstate 35, where soil is often thin over limestone. Pockets of clay and lots built up with fill can still move a slab, so we check crack history here too. See how Central Texas clay affects polished floors.
Commercial downtime is a real cost
In retail, office, and warehouse spaces, we can work in zones and stages and give you our honest estimate of when you'll get each area back. We won't just promise to "work around you."
Whatever the worry, we start the same way: we check the slab first, then recommend the system we think fits it best.

Planning the Trip and Setup in Wimberley
Wimberley is about 38 miles southwest of Austin by road, so we plan full working days. Before we bring the equipment out, we confirm access, power, and a spot to set up. On Hill Country land along RR 12, FM 2325, and the roads above Cypress Creek, we have to plan the route for our trailer and floor grinder. Homes near Wimberley Square and between Jacob's Well Natural Area and Blue Hole Regional Park often sit on sloped lots, so we check access ahead of time.
Guests or family can often stay in the home or vacation rental during the work. Depending on the job, we can seal off the work area and run HEPA dust extraction on the grinders. In most homes, the rest of the house stays usable. We book Lakeway and Bee Cave jobs on the same Hill Country route to cut down on travel.
What We Find in Wimberley Concrete Slabs
The ground around Wimberley is classic Hill Country: thin soil over limestone, broken up by pockets of clay that swell, shrink, and can move a slab over time. Newer custom builds near Woodcreek and the Blue Hole area often have sound, properly cured slabs. On those, we'd look at a cream finish, where almost no stone shows, or salt and pepper, with fine flecks of stone showing through. Either one usually gets a lithium silicate hardener at the end.
Established ranch homes, Blanco River properties, and vacation rentals off Ranch Road 12 can carry decades of tile glue, patches, and past moisture problems. Those need careful prep and a close look at the slab before we recommend a finish. We check cabin and guesthouse floors around Fischer and Devil's Backbone the same way. Where a slab has moved or been patched a lot, our advice is a polishable overlay or a stained finish, not grinding alone.
Areas we cover here
We don't have a Wimberley showroom or office, so any sample or mockup your job needs comes out to your home or business with us.
How a Polished Concrete Project Runs
Most jobs go through four steps between your first photos and the first day of grinding, and we don't like to rush them.
-
Send details and photos
Your floor area, how you use the space, what's on the floor now, and a few photos of the slab. That's usually enough for a first read on whether polishing is realistic.
-
We check the slab
On site we look at things like hardness, how deep the stone sits, flatness, anything soaked into the concrete, cracks, and old repairs. When the job calls for it, we grind a small test area so you can see your own concrete polished before you choose.
-
We talk through which systems fit
Mechanical polishing, grind and seal, an epoxy coating, or a polishable overlay. We'll make a clear recommendation, even when it's a different system from the one you asked about.
-
Written scope, then the work
Prep, repairs, the finish, treatments, phasing, and anything left out of the job all go on paper first. Then our crew does the work as written. We'll go over dust control for your space during the consultation.
Not sure whether your slab should be polished, overlaid, or coated?
Send us photos and a rough floor area. One of our estimators usually looks them over within 24 business hours and gives you a straight answer.
What Customers Tell Us
Here's what some of our customers have said.
“We removed dated tile in our Barton Creek remodel. The team prepped the uneven slab, walked us through our options, and we ended up with a satin cream finish we really like.”
“As a commercial GC, it's rare to find a flooring trade in Austin that explains the prep and testing this well. They kept us updated on the schedule the whole way through.”
“Honest and straightforward. They tested our 1980s slab, showed us a sample mockup, and explained why polishing suited our open living space better than epoxy.”
Individual results vary based on use, maintenance, and environmental conditions.
